17/07/2024 – Sports week for all!

Sports week for all!

Throughout the entirety of last week, our school celebrated Sports Week with a variety of engaging activities. Each morning, we gathered as a school to participate in invigorating warm-up exercises and fun-filled parachute games, fostering a sense of unity and excitement.

Our school grounds transformed into a vibrant hub of activity, offering access to the garden and PE hall for some exercise and play. Students delighted in the challenge of giant Connect 4 and dominoes, while others enjoyed the thrill of riding bikes and scooters. The gym equipment was also available!

We engaged in a diverse array of sports, including Boccia, Curling, Football, Netball, Cricket, Bowling, Hockey, and a challenging obstacle course. Each activity was met with enthusiasm and spirited competition.

The grand finale of Sports Week was our eagerly anticipated Sports Day. Parents joined us to cheer on our pupils, adding to the amazing atmosphere. It was a week filled with camaraderie, healthy competition, and a celebration of physical activity, leaving lasting memories for everyone involved.

Education for Learning (EfL)Conference

Last week, senior leaders met with representatives from Evidence for Learning (EfL), our comprehensive inquiry model recording tool that facilitates a deep understanding of our pupils’ starting points, learning progressions, curriculum interactions, assessments, and parent engagement, all within the framework of educational support. Given our long-standing collaboration with EfL, we were joined by distinguished SEND leaders including Barry Carpenter, Dianne Rochford, and Vegita Patel, along with EfL’s Head, Alan Wood, and the Headteacher of Sunningdale School.

The discussions centered on pivotal topics in the realm of SEND, inclusion, and the mechanisms of pupil learning and progress. Our engagement extended beyond discussions; we were featured in EfL’s latest release and honoured with an invitation to present on OFSTED’s criteria for outstanding schools. This opportunity was a significant milestone for our forward-looking institution, providing valuable exposure.

For a forward-looking school, this was a great experience of exposure, and we will soon welcome these leaders to visit our school. Watch this space!

Department for Education (DfE) Measure up

On Thursday, the Department for Education conducted a comprehensive inspection of our school, meticulously examining every corner and crevice. No floor space went unmeasured, as the team collected detailed data for an upcoming report on classroom spaces at Bleasdale School. We are optimistic that the findings will be favourable, heralding a promising future for our school.
