WISE UP Workshops!

Last week, Bleasdale School had the pleasure of being joined by WISE UP Workshops for an exhilarating pirate-themed performance for our pupils!

WISE UP Workshops, a Community Interest Company based in Morecambe, has been a beacon of support for local residents of all ages and abilities since 2013. Through a diverse array of creative activities, they champion health and wellbeing, fostering resilience and self-confidence among participants.

Our pupils eagerly anticipate each visit from WISE UP Workshops, and their latest performance was no exception. The pirate-themed event captivated everyone, leaving a lasting impression on both students and staff. The feedback from our staff here at Bleasdale School was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the engaging and inclusive nature of the workshop.

TA PDRS and Perspective –  Meeting or exceeding expectations

Our Teaching Assistants spent last week meeting with their class teacher to look at the targets set at Christmas. These PDRs are all kept with a school program we use named “Perspective”. Perspective support brilliant insights into a range of school business including Pupil progress, Development feedback (lesson Objectives), SEF (School evaluation form), SIP (School improvement plan), OFSTED notes and developments, CPDL (Continuous Professional Development Learning) to mention just a few. So far, it looks like all Teaching Assistants are exceeding expectations, which really helps the school in moving forward – even after an OUTSTANDING OFSTED!

Race for Life – We got an Award!

Over the weekend, our dedicated staff at Bleasdale School participated in the Race for Life, successfully completing a challenging 5-kilometre run. Race for Life, organized by Cancer Research UK, is the largest series of fundraising events in the country, mobilising communities across the UK to support crucial cancer research.

We are thrilled to announce that our team was honoured with the Top Group Fundraiser award. We have placed this award in our school foyer, serving as a testament to our collective effort and commitment. It stands as a beacon of pride for the entire Bleasdale School community, symbolising our unwavering dedication to supporting life-saving research and making a tangible difference in the fight against cancer.

What’s been going on around School?

Last week, our Squirrels class delved deeply into the theme of friendship during their PSHE lessons. They explored the qualities that define a true friend, crafting a thoughtful and imaginative “friendship recipe.” Each student selected the qualities they valued most, which led to insightful discussions. By putting these chosen qualities into practice with their new classmates, the Squirrels have fostered a warm and inclusive environment, cultivating beautiful and lasting friendships. Their dedication to understanding and embodying the essence of friendship has truly been inspiring to witness.
