A visit from Booths supermarket!
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the curriculum, we are excited to announce the development of new specialist learning spaces. This year, our focus is on creating immersive, hands-on environments including a pop-up shop, a hair salon, and a hospital room. We are thrilled to share that Booths supermarket has generously partnered with us to bring the pop-up shop to life, providing key fixtures to help us get started in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates as we transform these areas into dynamic learning hubs for our students!
Governor updates
Last week, our Governors and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) convened to strategically plan the future of Bleasdale, aligning our efforts with the school’s long-term vision. The meeting covered a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing our already exceptional facilities and ensuring they remain state-of-the-art. Additionally, ambitious goals were set for our headteacher, focusing on building upon the outstanding work that has led to our two consecutive ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED ratings. Central to our discussion was the continued development of a coaching culture, a cornerstone of our sustained success and future growth.
Roald Dahl Day
Last Friday, Bleasdale School came alive with excitement as students and teachers alike embraced the magic of Roald Dahl Day in grand style. The hallways were filled with creativity and colour as everyone dressed up as beloved characters from Dahl’s timeless stories. From the presence of Miss Trunchbull to the eerie Grand High Witches, the school was transformed into a scene straight out of one of Dahl’s worlds. The celebration was a vibrant tribute to the author’s genius, with costumes capturing the imagination and charm that his books inspire. It was a day of fun, laughter, and a shared love for storytelling!
Visit from Lancashire County Council (LCC)
LCC representatives Melanie Marsden and Rebecca Bell had an insightful visit, witnessing the remarkable changes and identifying how they can continue to support the school and its pupils, many of whom are in critical need of SEN placements. We were thrilled to hear about the strides they’ve made at Lancashire County Council, particularly in embracing a much-needed, individualised, child-by-child approach to education. Their dedication to providing tailored support is vital for the well-being and success of each student.
After School Club Questionnaire
This is a gentle reminder regarding the After School Club questionnaire that was distributed last week. We kindly ask that you take a moment to complete and return the form to the school at your earliest convenience. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us plan and enhance our after-school programs, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our students and families.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and your continued support.
What’s been going on around school?
In Computing lessons, Squirrels class have been exploring programming. We have been using an online Bee-Bot to create simple electronic programs on the iPads. We had to give the bee a sequence of instructions to try and move it to spell our names on the alphabet grid!
