A Week of Progress, Partnerships and Looking Ahead – 05/05/2026

Welcome Back After the Bank Holiday!

We hope all members of our school community – pupils, parents and carers, and staff – enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing bank holiday weekend. It’s always a great opportunity to recharge, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back for another busy and productive week ahead. We look forward to all the learning, achievements, and positive moments the coming days will bring.

Strong Partnerships with Lancashire County Council (LCC) Transport

We are delighted to share some wonderful feedback from LCC Transport, who recently got in touch to express their appreciation:

“Thank you so much for your help… Honestly, the cooperation shown by you guys, MRS and the Loyne is second to none. I’m really proud of the relationship we’ve developed and long may it continue. Once again, thanks Sefton and please pass my praise onto your team…”

This recognition highlights the strength of our partnerships and the collaborative spirit that benefits our pupils every day. A huge thank you to all involved for maintaining such high standards of teamwork and communication.

Inset Day: Fire Safety Training

Our recent inset day focused on essential fire safety training. Staff worked through procedures in detail, running multiple drills to ensure confidence and clarity in emergency situations.

We asked all staff to continue discussing procedures within their teams, so everyone is fully prepared ahead of further practice drills with pupils later this term. Thank you to all staff for approaching the day with such positivity, professionalism and good humour—it made a vital training session both productive and enjoyable.

Planning for the Future

We recently held a productive meeting with LCC, Eric Wright and Rosemary (Chair of Governors) to discuss exciting potential developments for the school.

Plans under consideration include:

  • A much-needed onsite car park
  • A new teaching space at the end of the pool
  • Roof improvement works
  • Enhanced fencing
  • Development of the forest school area

These projects represent an exciting step forward in improving our facilities and learning environment for all pupils.

LPPA Achievement Progress

A special mention goes to Arlene (HLTA) for her incredible dedication and hard work during the intensive process of regaining the LPPA (Leading Parent Partnership Award).

We would also like to thank all staff, parents and governors who contributed to this effort.

We are incredibly proud of this collective achievement and eagerly await the outcome, certificate and report.

Attendance Update

Our overall attendance currently stands at 88.7% for the year so far.

Thank you to all families and pupils for your continued support in maintaining strong attendance—every day in school really does make a difference.

Staff Shout-Outs

We would like to celebrate some of our fantastic staff members this week:

  • Nick and Carol – for their ongoing work making building adaptations as needed
  • Eleanor – for her efficiency, positivity and unflappable attitude
  • Jayne – for simply being Jayne and bringing her unique energy to the team

Your contributions are truly valued—thank you for everything you do.

Coming next week:

This week we have some exciting opportunities planned for all our pupils. It promises to be a stimulating and engaging week of learning, with a wide range of activities designed to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and support progress across the curriculum.

From focused classroom learning to enriching experiences beyond the timetable, our aim is to ensure that every pupil is challenged, supported, and encouraged to achieve their very best. We look forward to celebrating successes, big and small, as the week unfolds.

Each week at Bleasdale, we come together for a special celebration assembly to recognise achievements and milestones. Below, you can view the PowerPoint presentation from this uplifting gathering from last week!
