A Special Visit! – 09/02/2026

A Special Visit

Last week, we were delighted to welcome OFSTED inspector and advisor Eric Craven to Bleasdale. During his visit, he spent time touring our school, meeting staff and seeing first-hand the wonderful work that takes place every day. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our pupils, our provision and the dedication of our entire school community.

Following his visit, Mr Craven shared some incredibly positive feedback. He wrote: “Thank you so much for hosting me today and giving me a lovely tour of your school. I am very impressed by what team Bleasdale has done. I know it won’t have happened without a lot of effort and determination by all. You can feel the school’s strength, culture and development. Well-done my friends.”

We are extremely proud of these comments. They reflect the hard work, commitment and teamwork of our staff, pupils and families. Together, we continue to build a school environment where everyone feels valued, supported and inspired to succeed.

Attendance Update

Last week our overall school attendance was 86.8%. While we always strive for even higher attendance, we appreciate the continued efforts of families in supporting regular school attendance and punctuality.

A huge congratulations goes to our top attending classes: Acorns, Maples and Seedlings! Your excellent attendance is something to be very proud of. Consistent attendance plays such an important role in children’s learning, confidence and progress.

We will continue to celebrate and promote positive attendance across the school. Thank you to all parents and carers for your ongoing support in helping us give every child the very best opportunity to learn and thrive.

Celebrating Staff Success

We are pleased to share some exciting staffing news following our recent internal interviews. Sophie and Jasmine have successfully secured new roles within our Teaching Assistant team and Kathryn will be taking on a percentage of teaching responsibilities.

These appointments reflect the talent, dedication and professional growth within our own staff team. It is always wonderful to see colleagues developing their skills and progressing in their careers here at Bleasdale.

Please join us in congratulating Sophie, Jasmine and Kathryn as they begin their new roles. We are confident they will continue to make a positive impact on our pupils and school community.

Staffing Updates

We also share some sad news this week – Danielle, from our school office, and Heather, one of our Class Teachers, have both made the decision to move on for personal reasons. While we are sad to see them leave, we fully support their decisions and wish them every happiness in the future.

Both Danielle and Heather have made valuable contributions to our school community during their time with us. Their commitment and care have been greatly appreciated by staff, pupils and families alike.

We thank them sincerely for their service and wish them all the very best on their onward journeys.

Coming next week:

This week promises to be another busy and productive one at school. We are welcoming a visitor from Lancashire County Council who will be carrying out a safeguarding audit, an important opportunity to review and strengthen our procedures to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of our pupils remain at the heart of everything we do. Alongside this, our new staff members will be undertaking PRICE training, equipping them with the skills and confidence to continue supporting our children effectively and consistently.

As always, there is plenty to look forward to beyond the formal events. Our whole-school Valentine’s Disco will provide a wonderful opportunity for pupils to come together, celebrate and enjoy some well-earned fun. It’s set to be a week filled with learning, collaboration and community spirit — and we are excited for all that it will bring!
