A Strong Week at Bleasdale: Safety, Learning, and Community – 02/02/2026

Calm in the Storm: Putting Safety First

Last week brought a perfect storm of unpredictable English weather, transport delays, and a fallen telephone wire on the road near the school. Throughout it all, our staff responded exactly as we always do—remaining calm, acting responsibly, and placing safety at the heart of every decision.

Clear communication and swift decision-making ensured that pupils remained safe and learning continued with minimal disruption. We are grateful to our staff for their professionalism and adaptability, and to our families for their patience and support during an event that was handled with care, teamwork, and confidence throughout.

Evidence for Learning (EfL)

A key strength this week has been the continued sharing of learning with parents. We would like to thank those parents and staff who consistently reflect on the data and ask thoughtful questions. This ongoing dialogue is vital in driving improvement and raising the quality of practice across the school. Please continue to reflect, discuss, and question—this collective commitment makes a real difference.

Attendance

Attendance last week was 87.3%, placing us above the national average—thank you for your continued efforts in supporting good attendance. A special well done to Butterflies and Seedlings, our top-attending classes this week.

We would also like to thank all our parents and carers for their ongoing support and commitment to ensuring children attend school regularly and on time. Your partnership plays a vital role in helping our pupils thrive, and we truly appreciate the effort you make each day.

Staff Shout-Out: Thank You Zoe!

A huge thank you goes to Zoe, one of our dedicated HLTAs at Bleasdale, for her continued commitment and hard work. Zoe consistently goes above and beyond in her role, supporting both pupils and colleagues with professionalism, care, and a positive attitude.

Her calm approach, flexibility, and willingness to step in wherever needed make a real difference to daily life in school. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she has and for the support she provides across the setting—thank you, Zoe, for all that you do.
