Student Spotlight
This week, we are thrilled to showcase the incredible work of one of our talented students, Bryan. We take great pride in highlighting the dedication and creativity of our pupils, and this Student Spotlight is a perfect example of the outstanding efforts we see every day. Bryan’s work, which you can admire in the featured image at the top of this page, reflects the hard work and passion he brings to his studies. We love celebrating these achievements and are excited to share this moment with our entire school community.
National Poetry Day
Last week, we celebrated National Poetry Day, a moment to embrace creativity and reflection through the power of words. In honour of this special occasion, one of our talented teachers, Grace, shared an inspiring poem with staff across the school, which we are delighted to share with you below. It beautifully captures the spirit of the day and reminds us of the transformative impact poetry can have on our thoughts and emotions:
Today is national poetry day
So I’m sending this your way.
Read it now or read it later
But I hope it makes your day
Our job is very demanding
Both on our body and mind
So it’s extremely important
To take time to unwind
Our pupils are at the centre
Of everything we do
They need the help and support
Of someone as amazing as you
You do such an incredible job
Awesomeness everywhere I turn
We are the Bleasdale family
Together we achieve and learn
Arbour Training
Last week, our office team embarked on an in-depth training program with Arbour, marking the first phase of integrating this advanced system into Bleasdale School. Following the October 2024 half-term, Arbour will be officially introduced across the school, representing a significant step forward in enhancing our administrative operations. We are excited about the potential this system holds, as it promises to streamline key processes, making day-to-day tasks more efficient for staff, while also providing parents with a more user-friendly and transparent experience. This transition underscores our commitment to continually improving the way we support both students and families at Bleasdale School.
PRISM Medical Let Down Bleasdale School Pupils
It is with great disappointment that I must inform you about the repeated challenges we have faced with PRISM Medical, which have unfortunately let down the SEN pupils at Bleasdale School on multiple occasions. The school was first shocked by the poor installation of a pool hoist, which caused significant damage to several water tanks. The school had to bear the cost of these repairs.
Following this, PRISM Medical reinstalled the hoist, a service we did not request, only to find that it now requires the use of new slings sold exclusively by them. After five months of ongoing communication, numerous emails, and discussions, PRISM Medical has requested additional payments.
In all my years working in the SEN sector, I have never encountered such irresponsible behaviour towards the needs of our pupils. It is truly disheartening to see a company act in such a manner. I would strongly advise other schools and parents to avoid using PRISM Medical’s services. Should you wish to share your feedback with them, you can do so via this link: https://prismmedical.co.uk/your-feedback/)
Despite these challenges, we are moving forward, and the school will bear the additional costs to ensure our pupils can return to swimming as soon as possible. However, we will not be using PRISM’s services in the future.
On behalf of PRISM Medical’s inadequate service, we extend our sincere apologies for the disruption caused.
What’s Been Going on Around School?
During our forest school session, Acorns were interested in different sticks. We jumped in and out of the bird’s nest and looked at the face in the pile of sticks. We also did some tree rubbings. It is great to work outside.
