Football in the Hall
Football fever arrived at school this week, and it was fantastic to see so many pupils and staff enjoying the match together in the PE hall. The atmosphere was full of excitement, cheering and shared enjoyment, creating another memorable whole-school experience. Moments like these help bring our school community together and provide opportunities for everyone to celebrate, connect and have fun.
A Thank You to Our Teachers
As we approach the end of another busy year, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our teachers for their continued dedication, passion and commitment to providing the very best learning experiences for our pupils. Even in the final days of term, staff have continued to deliver engaging, meaningful learning opportunities with enthusiasm and care. Your hard work makes a real difference every single day.
Attendance
Our attendance this week (up to Thursday) was 89.1%. We are pleased that our attendance for the year to date remains 88.2%, which is above the current national average for special schools (86.8%) and in line with the Lancashire special schools’ average. Thank you to all our families for their continued support in helping pupils attend school regularly.
Staff Survey
This week, staff were invited to complete an anonymous survey to share their views and experiences. Listening to the voices of our team is incredibly important, and the feedback received will help us identify strengths as well as areas where we can continue to improve. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute.
Staff Shout-Outs
A huge well done and thank you to this week’s staff stars:
- The Squirrels Team for their fantastic support to other classes during the mornings.
- Josh for once again impressing our visitors with his knowledge and confidence.
- Acorns and Blossoms for another brilliant week of off-site learning and memorable experiences.
- Karen and Becky for their excellent presentation to our Governing Board.
Thank you all for going above and beyond to support our pupils and school community.
Evidence for Learning (EfL)
Last week, an incredible 219 Evidence for Learning uploads were shared by both school staff and families. These captured a wonderful range of achievements, from learning in the classroom and exciting off-site visits to pupils persevering through the warm weather and continuing to work hard right until the end of term.
As we head into our final week, let’s make every moment count with plenty of fun, laughter and learning. We are incredibly proud of everything our pupils have achieved this year and know they will be greatly missed over the summer break. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to celebrating these special moments throughout the year.
