Requesting for Your Child to Start Receiving a Cooked School Meal (New Pupils)
The cost of our school meals is currently £2.70 per day. This cost may increase with inflation each academic year.
In order for your child to start receiving cooked school meals, you will need to sign up to Arbor (our parent portal/app), as it is required to select the meals your child will receive. You will also use Arbor to make payments for your child’s cooked school meals (if applicable to you). Without completing the sign-up process, we will be unable to provide cooked school meals for your child. You are welcome to send a packed lunch to School with your child, in this instance you do not need to contact the office or make meal selections via Arbor for your child.

Pupil Premium/Free School Meals
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
- Universal Credit with a household income of less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
- Income-Based Jobseekers’ Allowance
- Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
- Child Tax Credit, not entitled to Working Tax Credit and household income less than £16,190
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credit ‘run on’ – the payment you receive for a further four weeks after you finish work
If you believe your child is eligible for Pupil Premium/Free School Meals, it is imperative that you complete and return a Pupil Premium/Free School Meals Eligibility form to Bleasdale School. Alternatively, you can complete this form online via this link: Free school meals – Lancashire County Council
Failure to return this form or complete this form online will result in charges for the cooked school meals you have chosen via Arbor.
If you require a copy of the Pupil Premium/Free School Meals form to return to the school office, you can download this by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, please contact the school office on 01524 701217 to request a copy.
Please be aware that it may take up to two weeks for your your Pupil Premium/Free School Meals form to be processed by our school and the local authority.
Universal Free School Meals
Pupils in Reception class and also Years 1 and 2 are eligible for free school meals, regardless of their parents’ eligibility status. Parents do not need to meet the criteria mentioned above (Pupil Premium/Free School Meals) for their child to benefit from this provision.
