Secret Orchard Project – 11/05/2026

Inspiring Learning Across the School

This week we witnessed some truly exceptional learning experiences taking place in classrooms across the school. Staff created engaging and meaningful opportunities for pupils, transforming even the driest subjects into exciting and memorable lessons that pupils genuinely connected with.

Particularly impressive were two groups who demonstrated the perfect balance between teacher-led learning and independent exploration. The atmosphere within these classrooms reflected a highly professional and ambitious learning culture, where pupils were encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively and take pride in their achievements.

Beyond the classroom, pupils continued to thrive during offsite learning opportunities. Taking part in a wide range of curriculum activities within the local community allowed pupils to develop confidence, independence and real-world experiences that support their wider personal development.

Secret Orchard Project

A huge thank you goes to all the staff, parents and volunteers who supported work on the Secret Orchard project this week. The transformation achieved in such a short space of time was incredible.

Supporters rolled up their sleeves and tackled overgrown brambles and clearing work with enthusiasm and determination. The project is already beginning to take shape and promises to become an amazing resource for our pupils and wider community.

The Secret Orchard will provide opportunities for outdoor exploration, wellbeing activities, employment skills and enterprise projects for years to come. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to help move this exciting project forward.

Planning for the Future

Staff also came together this week for important discussions around class groupings for the new academic year. The professionalism shown throughout these meetings was exceptional, with every conversation focused firmly on what is best for our pupils.

It was wonderful to see such thoughtful collaboration and commitment to ensuring every child is placed in an environment where they can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Attendance

Our whole-school attendance for last week was an impressive 90.6%.

Thank you to pupils, parents and staff for your continued commitment to attendance and ensuring pupils are in school, learning and making the most of every opportunity. Every day in school makes a difference.

Staff Shout Outs

This week’s staff recognition goes to several members of our amazing team:

  • Jayne B for always being cheerful, positive and willing to help others.
  • Sarah E for her flexibility and willingness to work across the school to support wherever needed.
  • All staff who respond to radio call outs and safely leave their own classes to support colleagues when required.
  • Jo for her fantastic work organising and sorting the library.

Thank you all for your continued dedication and teamwork.

Evidence for Learning Update

There were an impressive 256 Evidence for Learning (EfL) entries completed this week.

It has also been fantastic to see an increase in online safety evidence being recorded, highlighting the important work taking place to support pupils in navigating the digital world safely and confidently.

Celebrating Our LPPA Gold Award

A huge congratulations and thank you to Arlene, who has worked incredibly hard to secure the continuation of our Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) Gold Award for another three years.

This achievement recognises the outstanding relationships and partnerships that staff build with parents and carers every day. Maintaining this prestigious award reflects the dedication, communication and support that our whole school community provides to families.

Well done to everyone involved in achieving this fantastic recognition.
