Exciting Developments for the Silverdale Post Office and Bleasdale!
As many of you may be aware, the Silverdale Post Office will soon be closing, as the current postmistress is no longer able to continue in the role. While this marks the end of an era, it also signals a promising new beginning. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the local community, plans are well underway to open a brand-new Silverdale Community Post Office!
Last week, the team behind this inspiring initiative met with Karen, one of our Higher-Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), who leads our community engagement work. Together, they explored opportunities for collaboration between the new community post office and our students at Bleasdale School.
We’re excited to share that some meaningful agreements were reached that will not only support the success of the community shop but also provide valuable experiences for our students.
There’s much more to come, so stay tuned for updates on this fantastic partnership!
Class Group Planning Meetings
In preparation for the upcoming academic year, our dedicated staff have been holding weekly planning meetings to thoughtfully consider how we can best support both our current and new students. These collaborative sessions focus on shaping an inclusive, responsive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all our learners.
We’re committed to ensuring a smooth and successful transition into the new school year, with student wellbeing and progress at the heart of every discussion.
Evidence for Learning (EfL)
Last week, our dedicated staff went above and beyond uploading an incredible 107 pieces of evidence to the Evidence for Learning app! This fantastic achievement shines a light on the progress, achievements, and everyday learning successes of our pupils, offering families a special glimpse into their child’s educational journey.
Parents, we’d love your input! Your voice matters. We warmly invite parents and guardians to get involved by sharing your own observations and moments from home. Simply upload them to the app or speak with your child’s class teacher. Together, we can create an even stronger connection between home and school.
A huge thank you to our incredible staff for their ongoing commitment, and to our families for your continued support. Let’s keep celebrating each success, no matter how big or small!
Staff Shout-Out: Empowering Independence Through Real-Life Learning through our Bleasdale Booths Shop!
A huge shout-out to our incredible staff who have supported and developed pupils during their sessions in the school shop. These hands-on experiences are more than just classroom extensions—they are powerful steps toward preparing for adulthood.
Accessing and navigating a shop environment is a vital part of building independence, teaching essential life skills such as communication, money handling, decision-making, and social interaction. Each session provides our students with meaningful, real-world learning that equips them for life beyond school. Your dedication, patience, and creativity in guiding our learners through these experiences are truly making a difference. Thank you for fostering confidence and encouraging autonomy in every moment.
Let’s continue championing these opportunities and celebrating the progress we see, one transaction, one interaction, and one proud step at a time.
