Sports Week and Day! – 15/06/2026

A Huge Thank You!

A huge thank you to our Chair of Governors and School Advisor for their invaluable support in developing a truly exceptional OFSTED Leadership and Governance training package. Their expertise, insight, and unwavering commitment helped shape a programme that not only showcased best practice but also highlighted one of the school’s key strengths.

Sports Week and Day

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making Sports Day such a fantastic success. From staff to pupils and supporters, your enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment helped create a memorable day enjoyed by all.

It was wonderful to receive so many positive comments from both parents and pupils, who praised the organisation, atmosphere, and sense of community throughout the event. The determination, sportsmanship, and encouragement shown by our pupils truly embodied the values we strive to promote, making the day a celebration of participation, achievement, and school spirit.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a successful and enjoyable occasion.

Summer Gatsby Benchmark

We are delighted to report positive progress in our Summer Gatsby Benchmark Evaluation, with improvements achieved in two key areas:

  • Benchmark 2 – Learning from Careers and Labour Market Information
  • Benchmark 4 – Linking Curriculum Learning to Careers

These improvements reflect our continued commitment to providing high-quality careers education and ensuring that pupils have access to relevant, up-to-date information about future education, training, and employment opportunities. The strengthened links between curriculum learning and career pathways are helping pupils better understand the relevance of their studies and make informed decisions about their future aspirations.

This progress is a testament to the dedication of staff, employers, external partners, and careers leaders who work collaboratively to enrich our careers programme and support positive outcomes for all learners.

Attendance

Attendance was slightly lower than we would like this week. Regular attendance remains a key factor in ensuring pupils can fully engage with their learning, make sustained progress, and benefit from all aspects of school life.

We understand that there can be a range of circumstances that affect attendance, and we are committed to working in partnership with families to provide support where needed. If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our team is always here to listen, offer guidance, and work with you to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.

Staff Shout-Outs

A special thank you to several members of staff whose dedication and teamwork have made a real difference this week.

  • Greg for consistently prioritising the personal needs and wellbeing of our pupils, ensuring they feel supported, valued, and able to thrive.
  • Robbie for stepping in and providing invaluable support during Sports Day, helping to make the event such a success.
  • The team who stayed after school on Wednesday for demonstrating exceptional teamwork and commitment. Your willingness to support one another truly showed that teamwork makes the dream work!
  • Arlene and Karen for their professionalism, expertise, and unwavering support during a particularly challenging multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting.

Thank you all for your hard work, flexibility, and dedication. Your contributions do not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated by colleagues, pupils, and families alike.

Evidence for Learning (EfL)

This week, we celebrated an impressive 252 Evidence for Learning (EfL) entries, showcasing the many achievements, experiences, and moments of progress taking place across our school.

A sincere thank you to all the parents and carers who take the time to view, respond to, and contribute to EfL posts. Your engagement helps strengthen the partnership between home and school, allowing us to celebrate successes together and build a richer picture of each pupil’s learning journey.

We genuinely value your support and the positive impact your contributions have on recognising and celebrating our pupils’ achievements.
