Strengthening Our Child-Centred Practice – 24/11/2025

Inset Day

Last Friday, during our inset day at Bleasdale, our dedicated Fire Marshal team participated in a comprehensive Fire Marshal training session. This training equipped staff with up-to-date knowledge on emergency procedures, fire prevention strategies, and best practices for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone on site.

The session included practical guidance, scenario-based discussions, and a refresher on the roles and responsibilities of Fire Marshals. Our team engaged brilliantly throughout, demonstrating a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

We are incredibly grateful for their continued dedication and for the confidence and reassurance their expertise brings to our school community.

Celebrating Teamwork and Dedication Across Our School

This week, we are delighted to shine a light on the incredible teamwork, resilience, and dedication demonstrated across our school community. When challenges arise, it is inspiring to see how staff consistently step forward, support one another, and keep our provision running smoothly for our pupils.

A special thank you goes to all teams who pulled together during staff absences, ensuring that the quality of care and learning never wavered. Your flexibility and commitment truly embody the spirit of Bleasdale.

We would like to recognise the Squirrels team for stepping up with such positivity and collaboration during a particularly busy period. Your willingness to adapt and support one another made a significant difference.

Our appreciation also goes to Danielle for leading the conservatory clean-up. Her initiative, along with the support of those who volunteered to help, has transformed the space and created an environment we can all be proud of.

The Butterflies team deserves heartfelt recognition for continuing to deliver outstanding outdoor learning—always with style and purpose. Their dedication to our caring, curiosity, inquiry approach remains evident in every experience they design, reminding us all of the rich learning opportunities available each day.

And finally, a warm thank you to Nick—for simply being Nick. Your steady presence, good humour, and unwavering support are felt and appreciated throughout the school.

Together, these moments reflect the strength of our community and the shared commitment that makes Bleasdale such a special place to learn and work.

Strengthening Our Child-Centred Practice

We are pleased to share the positive progress made this week as we continue moving toward a more child-centred approach on Evidence for Learning (EfL). With 207 observations recorded over a four-day week, we have doubled the amount of learning evidence shared with parents—an impressive achievement that reflects real commitment across the staff team.

We would also like to recognise Karen for her wonderfully creative approach to teaching students about “people who help us.” Her imaginative activities and thoughtful evidence capture have provided pupils with engaging, real-world learning opportunities that truly bring the theme to life.

This week, our Christmas trees and decorations are beginning to sparkle throughout the school, marking the start of the wonderfully exciting Christmas period! The halls are slowly transforming with twinkling lights, colourful ornaments, and festive displays created by our pupils and staff.

Over the coming days, classrooms will be embracing the seasonal spirit with crafts, music, storytelling, and opportunities for our children to explore the magic of this time of year. As always, our focus is on creating joyful, inclusive experiences that bring our school community together.
