Welcome Back! – 02/06/2025

Welcome Back!

Welcome back, students, parents, and staff, to the second half of our summer term!

We hope you had a restful and rejuvenating break. As we step into this final stretch of the academic year, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for all the opportunities, growth, and achievements that lie ahead.

From enriching classroom experiences to end-of-term celebrations and milestones, there is so much to look forward to. Let’s continue working together with the same spirit of curiosity, dedication, and community that defines our school.

Here’s to a successful and inspiring second half of the term!

New Telephone System and Attendance Line

You may have noticed a recent update when contacting the school — we’ve introduced a new telephone system to help improve communication and streamline your experience.

As part of this upgrade, you can now report your child’s absence by leaving a message directly with our attendance line. Simply call the school and select Option 1 to access the absence reporting service. If you prefer to speak directly with a member of our office team, you are very welcome to do so — simply select Option 2 when calling.

Please ensure that you call before 9:00 AM on each day of your child’s absence, and remember to clearly state your child’s full name, class and the reason for their absence.

This system has been introduced to make it quicker and easier for you to keep us informed, while helping us to maintain accurate attendance records and ensure the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us provide a safe and responsive school environment.

University Student Placement

During the final week of last half term, we were delighted to welcome a university student on placement with us.

Over the course of their time here, they had the opportunity to observe, learn, and actively engage with various aspects of school life. Their feedback was a wonderful reflection of the supportive and nurturing environment we strive to provide for all who join our community, even for a short time.

They shared the following kind words:

“I didn’t catch you before the end of the day yesterday, but I just wanted to say thank you so much to you, Sefton, and Becky, as well as all the teachers who have made my last four days here amazing! You have all guided me through so much and been so welcoming!”

It’s always a pleasure to hear such positive feedback, and it’s a testament to the dedication, warmth, and professionalism of our staff. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making their experience so meaningful — your openness and generosity leave a lasting impression and help shape the next generation of educators.

We look forward to continuing to offer placements like these and sharing the excellent practice within our school with future professionals.

Parent Feedback

In the final week before half term, we were deeply moved to receive some truly heart-warming feedback from one of our parents following their child’s EHCP review.

 They shared the following message:

“I just wanted to say thank you for my child’s EHCP review today. It was wonderful — not only a joyful celebration of my child’s time at Bleasdale, but also an informative, productive, and collaborative experience. It feels as though staff are constantly curious about my child’s needs and are always striving to meet them in creative, evidence-based ways, drawing on a wealth of professional expertise and training.

What stood out most was the genuine care and enjoyment staff have for my child — her personality is valued, and that means the world to us. We feel confident that Bleasdale consistently puts her needs, and those of all its pupils, at the very heart of everything it does.

My child herself was delighted by the review. In fact, for the first time ever, she was happy to stay at school without us afterwards — something we’ve never experienced following an EHCP meeting. We don’t take for granted the sense of joy and security that school brings to her, even with the ups and downs of her needs. Thank you to the entire team — you make a monumental difference.”

This message is a powerful reminder of the impact that thoughtful, compassionate, and informed practice can have on the lives of children and their families.

We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the trust and collaboration of our families. Feedback like these fuels our commitment to personalised, child-centred education — where every student is seen, valued, and supported to thrive.

Thank you to all staff for the care and dedication you bring to every interaction. Moments like these reflect the heart of what we do.

 Staff Thank Yous

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to several members of our team and wider school community for their invaluable contributions recently:

  •  Our Governors, for their time and insight during the recent Health and Safety Walk and for compiling the subsequent report. Your continued support helps us maintain a safe and well-managed environment for all.
  • Anna (Higher Level Teaching Assistant), for her thoughtful input and careful work on the PE funding report — your contribution ensures our resources are being used effectively to support physical education and wellbeing.
  • Our Governing Body, once again, for engaging with complex discussions and making some difficult but necessary decisions regarding reportable numbers. Your dedication to the long-term vision and sustainability of our school is deeply appreciated.
  • Paula (School Business Manager), for her unwavering commitment and hard work. Your dedication does not go unnoticed and continues to make a meaningful difference every day.

These efforts, both seen and behind the scenes, are what enable our school to thrive. Thank you for your professionalism, collaboration, and ongoing commitment to the success and wellbeing of our pupils and staff.

Let’s continue to celebrate and support one another as we move through the remainder of the term — together, we achieve so much more.
