Welcome back Students, Parents/Guardians and Staff!
We are thrilled to begin a new term filled with fresh opportunities, meaningful learning, and continued growth. As we step into this exciting chapter together, we look forward to building on our shared successes and making this term truly exceptional. Let’s make it a memorable one!
A warm and thoughtful message from our Headteacher, Sefton, was shared with all parents and guardians this morning. If you haven’t had a chance yet, we encourage you to take a moment to read it—it sets a wonderful tone for the term ahead!
Free Fruit!
A huge thank you to Rebecca, one of our Lead Learning Practitioners, for organising free fruit for many of our learners through the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme.
The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS) is a government programme that entitles every child aged 4-6 in fully state-funded schools to a piece of fruit or vegetable each school day, this equates to approximately 2.3m children in approximately 16,600 schools across England. The scheme was introduced after the NHS Plan, launched in 2000, included a commitment to implement a national fruit and vegetable scheme by 2004. The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme is funded by central Government.
The School Fruit & Vegetable Scheme is part of the national 5 A DAY programme. Fruit and vegetables are key to a healthier lifestyle for all of us and experts recommend that everyone eats at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables in a day. Eating fruit and vegetables every day helps children and teenagers grow and develop, boosts their vitality and can reduce the risk of many chronic diseases – such as heart disease, high blood pressure, some forms of cancer and being overweight or obese.
Easter Bonnet Parade – A Joyful Celebration!
In the final week of term, we were delighted to host our Easter Bonnet Parade—a truly joyful occasion that brought our school community together under the spring sunshine. It was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces as pupils proudly showcased their creative bonnets, participated in egg hunts, and engaged in festive activities woven into the curriculum. A huge well done to all the classes who took part, and congratulations to every pupil for their enthusiasm and wonderful efforts!
Evidence for Learning (EfL)
Last week, our dedicated staff went above and beyond, uploading an incredible 107 pieces of evidence to the Evidence for Learning app! This remarkable contribution highlights the continued progress, achievements, and hard work of our pupils, offering families a meaningful window into their child’s learning journey.
Parents and Guardians – we’d love for you to be part of this story! Your insights and contributions are invaluable. Please feel free to comment and share your own observations and evidence with your child’s class teacher. Together, we can create a more connected and enriching learning experience.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff for their tireless dedication, and to our families for your ongoing support. Let’s continue to celebrate every step of success—big or small—together!
